ABOUT YOU

Name: Corey
Are you 18 or over?: Yes!
Other characters played: N/A

CHARACTER

Name: Aerith Gainsborough
Canon: Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core
Age: 22-ish
History: Right here. Specifically the Crisis Core and Childhood sections~
Point in canon: Just after sending her 89th and last letter to Zack
Window Location: Just above the Alter in the Church where she gardens. Hardly anyone goes in there anymore. It's abandoned.
Universe: Gaia
Abilities:
As for abilities, Aerith has a few things going for her! First and foremost, Aerith has several white magic spells that she can execute. She's good with them! As it stands with her canon point, these will be things she'll be learning in the game. She's pretty weak right now.

Another thing all Final Fantasy VII characters have is the Limit Break. These are activate when a character has taken enough damage, and is a super special attack or status buffer that helps the party. Aerith's are primarily healing. Again, this will be something she will learn in game.

... As well... She can speak with plants! |D
Possessions:
The clothes on her back, and a pink hair ribbon. A bit of gil, and some seeds in her pocket.
Personality:
Aerith is one of the most positive and upbeat people in the entire FFVII game. She consistently tries cheer up her fellow teammates, neighbors, friends... even strangers! She is generally very happy, and happiest when she is with the people she cares about. She tends to be dependent on people, yet at the same time, very independent in the sense that once she makes up her mind, she will do something. Aerith upholds the idea that she can take care of business herself. Being of big heart, goes out of her way to help sometimes. A good example of this would be when Zack's wallet gets stolen in the game. She knows the child that did it and insists that there must be a reason and they absolutely have to help. Poor Zack.

Yet under this confident and upbeat persona, there is an almost wistful air about her. Aerith is known to be honest, but always kept her heritage a secret, along with everything that went along with it. The planet speaking to her, the uncanny ability to grow flowers, unique healing... Obviously something is special about this girl, but she's never been forthcoming about it. And considering her past, she has every reason not to be. Being captured and experimented on from a young age? Yeah, no thanks.

She is generally very sweet and pretty charismatic, making friends quickly. Afterall, she somehow got close to Cloud--one of the most anti-social people to walk the planet! She seems pretty content to stay around and care for her flowers though. She treasures them, and knows it is due to her Cetra blood that they bloomed. Flowers tend to comfort Aerith and calm her down if she's stressed or scared. Aerith is a very dedicated woman, as proven by the four years of waiting and 89 some odd letters she sent to Zack. She will stick to her cause until she sees it to what she sees as completion.

At this point in her canon, Aerith has not yet embraced her Cetrian roots, and considers herself alone, being the last of her kind. She also has a fear of the sky, though, with Zack's help, she has been overcoming it, enthusiastic to spread flowers all over Midgar. (Which has to be the cutest video game mission in all of historyyyyy ;w;)

Another mentionable trait of the flower girl is how perceptive she can be. She can tell when people or even animals are down. Paired with her curiosity, persistence, and boldness, she will call this out and attempt to cheer the person up. She seems to become much more brave after Zack’s last dispatched mission as she ventures onto the upper plate to sell flowers.

Aerith seems to be a little bit of a tease, never having given a straight answer as to whether she and Zack ever went out on a date, though, by all context, it looks like it. She has a distinct like of the man for his excitableness, and slight weirdness. She tends to avoid fighting as much as possible.

Prose Sample:

Daffodils had always been one of her favorites. Gentle hands caressed one of the late-bloomers of her little garden in the middle of the church floor. This plant had been having problems growing, even in the fertile soil under the floor--the only place flowers would grow in all of Midgar. Poppies, orchids, lilacs... none of them had problems. But this little daffodil...

"Maybe you're just a little lonely, hm? .. I understand completely." A soft smile crossed Aerith's lips and light brown hair fell forward over her eyes. Four years. It'd been four years since he disappeared. To see the hole in her ceiling where he'd fallen through the ceiling all those years ago only seemed to serve as a reminder to her--albeit a good one. She couldn't help but smile when she remembered how he'd called her Mom, how he then thought maybe she was some sort of angel, and how... how wonderful he'd been for her.

She could even look at the sky now! It reminded her of his eyes, after all.

"Yes, I think a companion is all you need. Call it your better half, hm?" And with grace, she would plant a daffodil seed next to this one. A little water and a little care and they'd look in tip-top shape in no time.

"Daffodils are supposed to symbolize hope, you know. You're going to be my hope... that I can still spread flowers all over Midgar... that one day this planet will be okay... That Zack... where ever he is... he's alright. Be strong for me, okay?"

It wouldn't take but a week before the daffodils would grow, stronger and healthier than ever. It would hardly be a month before daffodils began dominating the majority of her little garden. Good thing they always were one of her favorites.

Plans: As of right now, I'm very open to where Aerith will end up. I think primarily, she will avoid too much confrontation and exploration, but with the curiosity she has, that might not last. Plot wise, I'd like to take this opportunity to really explore her character and develop her into the caretaker she is. Mostly CR based plots, I think.
Notes: Nothing |D Thanks for reading?

DÆMON
Name: Jonah
Sex: Male
Form: Russet Sparrow
Additional notes:
Why this form: In the beginning of the canon, Aerith fears the sky; she says it feels like it might suck her up. Through Zack, she begins to learn that it's.. not so scary. The sparrow is a social bird, and has been known to sing. I feel it's a good representation of Aerith here.

*~*~*Added Revisions*~*~*

As requested, these following are clarifications and expansions.

1) The spells that she's capable of are limitless because of the method of learning spells within the world of Gaia. Because of materia, namely anyone can learn. However, at this point in canon, it's unclear whether Aerith really has possession of any materia. She never really preforms any spells in the entirety of Crisis Core. She does have an affinity towards health and status buff spells (Later in Final Fantasy VII). Cure, and it's derivatives, Esuna, haste, all those sorts of spells are the one's she will be learning. Eventually. Limit break wise, because of her early canon point, she will be capable of the healing wind, and that's all.

To clarify on her ability to speak with the planet... at this point, the planet more speaks with her, and she... tries to ignore it. It's very foreign to her and she does not understand. Aerith is one of the Ancients, the Cetra. And this is the main thing the Ancients were said to possess. It's majorly theorized that the reason the flowers grow in the little patch under the church is because Aerith is there, speaking to the planet. As well, in canon, it's because of her praying to the earth she is able to obtain the holy materia. However that is in Final Fantasy VII, not Crisis Core. The way I interpret this, if she can speak with the planet, she should be able to speak with... things that are a part of it too, I guess. |D

2) I'm going to, at this point, say that she has only one materia: Cure. Aerith's not really built for much fighting. I kind of wanted her inventory to be limited, and on an average day, she wouldn't have more than that in her pocket at this time.

3) On to her Independent/Dependent nature:

This is something I'm even unclear on. XD Thank you for calling attention to it; it quite obviously needs some work.

I see Aerith as a primarily independent individual. The reason being is some of the things she's gone through point in that direction. Being captured with her real mother, Iflana and put in the Shinra labs, escaping and being raised by her adoptive mother, venturing out into the slums every day to care for her garden... these are some of the things that point to an independent woman. She's able to get things done on her own, mainly. Now, waaaay past her canon point in Final Fantasy VII, Aerith makes the decision to depart from the group and venture to the City of the Ancients alone to pray for the Holy Materia. That takes a lot of guts, so... independent.

Then again, Aerith ... wouldn't have done any of that without Zack's strength. The biggest example of this would be when he first met Aerith, she told him she was afraid of the sky. Several years after Zack assured her it wasn't so scary, and after he disappeared, she finally obtained the bravery to step foot on the upper plates. In this sense, she's very dependent on other's strength for her own.

4) A Russet Sparrow; it has been updated. I did not know there were so many species of sparrows. 8|...

And the final question:

If that's fine with Zack-mun, then that's most certainly fine with me. C: If their canon points are similar, then it makes sense to make them from the same works.
